What is the best buy, Roll Up Truck Bed Covers or Folding Truck Bed covers?

Tonneau covers seem to be fashionable these days, especially here in Southern California. A lot of guys buy them because they make their trucks look better not because they really need. Of course, I like how they make my truck look too, but mainly I like tonneau covers because they prevent people from stealing my stuff while protecting my property against lements.

I like the lightweight roll-up tonneau covers. They are simple to install and they open the truck bed completely opposite to the upper hard covers which tend to offer more limited access. There are different types of rolling tonneau covers: there are types of fabrics and vinyl stripping, hard type that roll on a reel. On my truck, I had the Lund Genesis Seal and Peel barrel. It had velcro side and can run like a sheet of heavy-duty vinyl.

Recently, I noticed some trucks that use the folding-type covers that seem more important then the roller type. So I thought I could do a little comparison shopping. My main criteria was a lightweight but sturdy barrel that provides easy access and complete my truck bed. I did a search online for the two types of truck bed covers and read the descriptions and reviews. One thing I noticed is that there seems to be a small selection of folding hard tonneau cover and roll tonneaus. The roller covers have been made by manufacturers like Extang, Truxedo and Lund with price ranges from $ 200 - 400.

The truck folding bed covers were more expensive with price ranges of $ 500,800. One of the brands that caught my attention was BAK, they do the folding tonneau cover Bakflip and he was on the low end price range. It is divided into four sections foldable that can be locked in different positions, including one that allows you to protect your rear window when you move goods. You can fold completely or in sections.

After some research a product description of reading, I have reduced folding tonneau cover and Bakflip Truxport Truxedo roll up tonneau. Both have cool, innovative features and can be locked for security. Ultimately, I went with the Bakflip although it was almost twice the price. I really wanted a tonneau that was strong enough to withstand that and locked. And I love the fact that you can open it in sections and even lock it in different configurations. Very cool.

If you're in the market rental truck or a folding cover rolling truck bed cover, I recommend doing your homework. Pay special attention to reviews, they really helped me decide. - Tim Saunier
