GM Pressured by Bloating inventories of trucks and SUVs

The sales continue to decline is felt not only by U.S. automakers, but even by German manufacturers as BMQ the producer of BMW 325xi parts but unlike German automakers, U.S. car manufacturers particularly GM is subject to pressures brought about by its very bloated inventories of SUVs and trucks which remain unsold.

For this month the manufacturer expects a decline of 19 percent over the same period last year. GM sales fell 21 percent last June which fell outside the double-digit sales of full-size trucks at a time and SUVs that have recently been launched on the market.

Meanwhile, two of its rivals from GM, Toyota and Ford seem to have more luck in performance management is pushing the sales of trucks and SUVs on the market. GM as a solution tried to launch a campaign for the clearance of eruptions, like the one he has occupied in past years, but unfortunately the manufacturer was stuck with a glut of inventory on forcing them to increase incentives or reduce production.

The problem with reduction in production is that revenues are affected GM's book because it is based on the product and vehicle shutdown could affect the chances of the company to stabilize its revenue in North America. And that's not all, increased incentives would also have an effect on profits.

According to research firm Edmunds.com consumers, Toyota has been growing strength of incentives for this month on the basis of year-over-year, pending its rivals Ford and GM has cut spending rebates and discounts.

It may be noted that the latest offers incentives such as the 2005 Employee discounts-for-all together with a 0 percent financing for 72 months during last summer has been very costly for the manufacturer. Although these campaigns have boosted sales, but it has greatly affected the figures in the last months of the year because people were fired at the market earlier than normal time they would be purchasing vehicle.

Last June, according autodate Corp. GM had most of the supply trucks and SUVs, it was 30 percent higher than what the manufacturer had in May and nearly 40 percent more than the entire industry .

Citigroup analyst Jon Rogers in a note Wednesday that inventories of trucks that GM seems to be high while production schedules remains to be optimistic. Other analysts say that the eruption of the month except in July, the inventory levels of GM remains under pressure in the years to come.

GM expected to announce its second quarter financial results on Tuesday, one day before the July auto sales data are published. The automaker has been in restructuring mode for the last two years, now hopes for a profit for the final period, despite the poor sales it has achieved in North America. GM also hopes to gain concessions from the UAW to support its major restructuring programs.
