Candid Photography is probably the most effective form of photography there. Candid photography is the art of catching people unawares in a photo. It does not mean they were captured in a joke when they fall in the snow or something like that, it just means that catching people in their most natural. There is always room for a well composed picture with the time taken on how the subject poses and smiles for the camera. To me, that can never beat the capture of people falling around laughing at a joke or watching a sporting event. Here are six tips for taking good photos candid. Plan for spontaneity
This may seem contradictory, but it's a good idea to plan for spontaneity. I mean, think about the event you are photographing. If you're at a birthday party with friends, think about where most guests will be in the game and think of you as the photographer can stand to take pictures without being noticed. Many people in the kitchen at parties stand away from the music so they can talk and tell jokes. Think where you could stand and capture moments of spontaneity without attracting guests awful asked "Say Cheese" type photos.
Take lots of pictures
Digital cameras are great memory that you can take a lot of photographs without real cost to you. It's perfect for taking candid photos. Take as many pictures as you can from many different angles and many different zoom settings. From this you greatly increase your chances of getting gems.
Human Interaction
Some of the best candid shots I took were when people are interacting with each other. It could be a lively conversation about politics or discuss a book they have read. It could be a couple of children, carrying a toy. The fact is, human interaction as a result of some of the most incredible photographs.
Never leave your camera at home
This is a simple trick but probably the most important. How many times in the past, were you to meet them, where you saw something suddenly say, "I wish I had my camera with me." I know what happened so many times. You do not have to carry a big SLR Canon Eos with you all the time, just a point of good quality digital camera will suffice for some good shots spontaneous. Do not forget to take some spare batteries with you so!
Stealth mode with a long zoom
For the ultimate in stealth candid photography, use a camera with a lens long and hide behind trees or shrubs nearby. Paparazzi photographers use this technique a lot to take pictures of celebrities in candid moments. You can use this technique to capture candid shots of friends and family as well.
Candid photography must be practiced and patience is certainly the key to success. Above all, enjoy the process and you will find candid photography come naturally to you.
