Like all technologies the concept of feeds in general has been evolving. IMHO the concept of keyword search feeds or search based feeds is a handy evolutionary step.

Why? Generally feeds are controlled 100% by the feed publisher. This meant historically if you liked a portion of a feeds content you had to make a decision, use it or keep looking. With keyword search feeds the control changes a bit, maybe a 90/10 split in favor of the publisher, but with your new found 10% you can easily tune the feed content to your liking.
