Creating a BlogSieve based feed | |
Because a BlogSieve feed is based on a set of rules you create it is intrisicly more complex. For my example I've decided to create a feed about "feeds"
or more specifically a feed about atom, rdf and rss development. I started by using the Feed Meme: Feed Discovery tool to find some topical feeds.
I've decided upon the following three feeds, keep in mind these are random selections from the results provided by Feed Meme:
- http://danieldkim.blogspot.com/atom.xml
- http://johnbransford.com/node/feed
- http://www.dotnetslackers.com/rss.aspx
My goal will be to remove any unwanted advertising, short entries, tracking urls and return a feed that only contains entries that have Atom, RSS or RDF in the entry titles. Now this might seem like a lot, but as you step through the BlogSieve Create a New Feed Wizard you'll see fields for everything I mentioned and thensome. I like the way BlogSieve provides global and individual feed level filters ie filters that work on all feeds, and filters that work on specific feeds.
