Patrick Dempsey, who, with the rest of the cast of medical drama Golden Globe-winner, Grey's Anatomy, is still paused, recently traded in his scrubs court dress in his next film. The actor, who plays Dr. Derek Shepherd, aka Dr. McDreamy on Grey's Anatomy, will soon be seen in the movie revolutionary Disney, Enchanted. The film, which premiered in November, will feature Disney's first feature-film hybrid of live action and traditional animation since it came out with the movie Lizzie McGuire in 2003. It is also the first theatrically released film company American company to use traditional animation since Pooh's Heffalump Movie in 2005.
In Enchanted, Patrick Dempsey plays the lawyer amicable divorce, but mistaken, Robert, who becomes involuntarily being the affection of a princess of a world of cartoons.
Part animation, part live action film follows the story of Princess Giselle, the cartoon world of Andalasia, a fairytale classic tale full of enchanted creatures. She meets and falls in love with her handsome prince named Edward. By way of fairy tale basis, the wicked Queen Narissa called, is outraged by the romance budding and banishes Giselle from their world in New York, where she finds solace and salvation with Robert.
Besides Dempsey of Grey's Anatomy, Patrick, Enchanted also stars Amy Adams, Princess uprooted, James Marsden as the Prince Charming of her dreams and the Academy Award, Susan Sarandon as the evil Queen. Another Oscar-winning actress Julie Andrews lends her voice to the narrator.
The film is written by Bill Kelley and directed by Kevin Lima, with music by Alan Menken, who won eight Oscars for his work scoring on four previous films of other Disney The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin and Pocahontas.
