Reservists offer broad sets of skills beneficial to employee training

 
Many employers already recognize the benefits of transferable skills training of reservists instills employees. Research in June 2005 revealed that 76 November 2003) believe that activities such as reserve service to provide valuable staff development and training.

Training and serving as a reservist develops a range of skills and qualities that can be directly related to the workplace, ranging from basic attributes such as teamwork, leadership, confidence and adaptability to the practical knowledge of subjects as diverse as information and first aid.

Practical training in the field of development aid staff
Reserve training places great importance on working in field conditions, ie outside the comfort of the training center. A large proportion of this involves practical exercises, reservists are assessed in realistic and demanding. civil courts are rarely able to replicate this, because of cost and resource implications, therefore, employers of reservists are able to benefit directly from the intensive training they receive.

In addition, it should be noted that much of the training provided to reservists is nationally recognized, such as NVQs (National Vocational Qualifications), SCOTVEC (Scottish Vocational Education Council) and City and Guilds, which companies can easily integrate their own staff development programs.

Individual Reservist training worth 9,000 a year
According to research by Leeds Business School, the value to civilian employers of the training received by members of the Reserve Force is a huge 377 million per year. The reservists are trained throughout the year and to acquire skills that many organizations lack the resources or time to provide. Many of these skills are directly transferable to the civilian workplace and would cost an employer more than 9,000 per year for the purchase in commerce. However, training of employees on average is only 822 per year.

To raise awareness of the substantial benefits that reservists give their civilian employers, Sabre is campaigning for all UK businesses to give their support by signing the Declaration of Support ofEmployer. More than 100 companies have already made their public support of the Reserve Force in this way.
