Biometric technology in today's synchronization and access systems

Time and attendance and scoring systems have evolved in recent years of traditional punch cards to the latest biometric technology.
This may seem a bit extreme, but millions of people in free societies for being late, leaving early and what is known as friends of people with clock synchronization for other people. Biometric access control is growing rapidly larger organization such as banks, airports, etc. tend to set the trend with this type of technology and I'm sure if you go to one of these, you will find a way to scan if biometric clock or control access or simply to connect computers ON OFF.
What's wrong with swipe cards or PIN that you might ask, can they be copied or illegally obtained where a biometric scan is much harder to copy, in fact almost impossible.

When people hear that they instantly think of the biometric fingerprint technology, but this is just one of many biometric systems.
On the fingerprint is the most common and least expensive to implement in any organization, as readers iClock
take several readings to pinpoint peaks and valleys of the fingerprint, then using a complex algorithm of these shops as an individual code. In most cases, it is always good practice to store more than one code in the fingerprint reader just in case one gets a cut finger or a spot on what can affect the reading.
Other types such as the recognition site require large bulky players. The terminal captures a three dimensional image of the hand each time an employee puts his hand into the reader. the size of your hand and shape are used to verify their identity. These types of systems are almost double the cost of fingerprint systems. Face recognition technology is more and more, but requires a powerful computer processing is slow and not as reliable as other biometric technologies, but an improvement is that the CCD camera and software improves. Iris recognition uses infrared to examine the structure of blood vessels at the back of the eye is also a very strong growth of biometric technology. Iris recognition is a secure system, but still requires powerful processing and slow to read with a high failure rate not very good for access control with a lot of traffic.

With all biometric systems the biggest battle of all during their implementation is how to win the confidence of those using it. They need to be reassured that the information will only be used for what it is intended and it is safe to use. This is probably the main stumbling block to more to come during the introduction of biometric identifiers.

All of these biometric technologies have a place in safety and businesss today but for the moment and Technology fingerprint attendance is more than enough because of its low cost and reliability and most applications Safety of dual method of fingerprint card and offers a very high level of access control. This is a map of media such as RFID (radio frequency identification) and must match the fingerprint to access them all.

With bar code technology is also widely used but has its problems, the main being the ability to clock in or other persons with a friend, pointing obviously this can be done only if the biometric readers are used . On a positive side to the bar codes on other media technology is cost, as most bar code 3 of 9, EAN, Code 128 etc. can be printed on laser printers and then laminated to create a card clock or use of cards for a very low cost. Other media can also be used to clock buddy are magstripe and proximity, but these media cards are more expensive than bar codes. Magstripe can be produced in the house, but a coder and printer are expensive to produce a map of good quality. RFID tags are purchased with an identification code already programmed into it, the advantage is that it is more difficult to copy the tag and the scanner does not require or no contact with the media to reduce the routine maintenance .

So who to choose? Biometrics can be just as cheap and as reliable as other types of media, but has its limits. Everyone has a place in today's world if you only need employees to clock out and secure access to low so the fingerprint is low cost option to produce without Media or buy.
